Dennis Lee Thompson is an American sculptor that works in stainless steel, granite, marble, and exotic woods.

Dennis began his career as a professional welder working on the NASA Space Shuttle platform for many years.  His specialty is stainless steel and he utilizes 8 different sanding grits before he hand-polishes the steel with diamond dust for a sleek, mirror-finish.  Eventually Dennis began to sculpt granite and marble bases for his stainless sculptures, which naturally led him to sculpt forms from stone.

Fascinated by the story of Dade County Pine, Dennis began to collect this rare hardwood from century year-old houses in the Florida Keys.  He shapes and polishes the wood into many forms and often leaves the nail remnants for historical appeal and the 'wabi-sabi' effect.

Dennis Thompson was also a Florida Keys fisherman for many years.  He fished lobster & stone crab, and was well-known for being the king of Snowey Grouper deep-dropping.
